Why "Vegan PDRN" Is Different From Standard PDRN
Standard PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is extracted from salmon sperm DNA — an animal-derived material with batch-to-batch variability depending on salmon source and harvest conditions.
Dr. Althea's PDRN is probiotic-derived — synthesized from five fermented ingredients through biotechnology rather than animal extraction. The Sodium DNA in the INCI is chemically identical to PDRN but produced via microbial fermentation — making it genuinely vegan, more consistent in purity, and free from the allergen concerns associated with salmon-derived materials.
At 5,000ppm (0.5%), this is a meaningful topical PDRN concentration — beyond the trace amounts many budget PDRN products use to justify the label claim.
