The Three-Mechanism Blur System
Most setting powders do one thing: absorb oil. The Sebum Retouching Blur Pact uses three separate mechanisms that address oily skin from different angles.
Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer (MMA Crosspolymer): Perfectly spherical synthetic polymer microspheres that work via optical diffusion. On a flat, oily surface, light reflects in a single direction — creating visible shine. On spherical MMA particles, light scatters in multiple directions simultaneously, producing a soft-focus, airbrushed effect. The spheres also create a micro-cushion layer that visually fills pore openings and texture.
Silica: A porous mineral that works via adsorption — oil and sebum particles bond to its surface and are trapped inside its microporous structure rather than sitting on top. Silica captures sebum at the molecular level and holds it, keeping skin mattified even as oil production continues.
Nylon-12: Finely milled nylon microspheres that create adhesion between the powder and the skin's surface, preventing the formula from migrating or settling into fine lines. Anchors the MMA and Silica particles in place, maintaining the optical effect throughout the day rather than fading after the first hour.
The Silicone Trio
Most oil-control powders feel tight or emphasize dry patches because they strip without replenishing. This formula contains three silicone derivatives:
Dimethicone: Primary silicone; creates smooth, even spreadability so the powder glides across skin without dragging.
Dimethiconol Stearate: Water-resistant silicone that adds long-wear staying power and helps the powder hold up against humidity and sweat.

The powder's light warm-pink tone isn't a single dye — it's a blend of two:
Lithol Rubine BCA (CI 15850): A synthetic red-pink azo dye that provides the primary pink brightening effect; corrects dullness and yellow-grey tones in the complexion.
Tartrazine (CI 19140): A yellow dye that warms the pink tone so it reads as skin-like rather than cosmetically pink. The tartrazine is the difference between a powder that sits on skin and one that disappears into it.
The result is a tone-up that works across a range of skin tones — adding brightness without obvious color — because the warm yellow offset prevents the pink from reading as a cast.

Pro Tip: Pat, never swipe. Pressing maintains coverage underneath while absorbing shine; swiping disturbs the base and can cause pilling. Can also be used as a finishing step over bare skin or tinted moisturizer for a soft-blur no-makeup look.
