How Hydrocolloid Actually Works

Standard spot treatments apply an active ingredient on top of a blemish. Hydrocolloid does something structurally different.

The patch adheres to skin and creates an airtight sealed micro-environment over the spot. The Cellulose Gum gel matrix absorbs fluid, sebum, and discharge through osmotic pressure — fluid naturally moves from higher concentration (inside the pimple) toward lower concentration (the gel). The moist wound-healing environment this creates accelerates recovery significantly faster than open-air blemishes that dry out and crust.

Simultaneously: a complete physical barrier between the blemish and everything that makes it worse — fingers, bacteria, makeup, dust, and the GCC's outdoor pollutants.

What Each Component Does

🔲 Polyurethane Film — The thin, clear, flexible backing that makes the patch barely visible; waterproof and durable through movement and sleep

🌿 Cellulose Gum — The hydrocolloid gel matrix; the absorbent core that draws fluid out and turns white as it fills

💧 Liquid Paraffin — Gives the adhesive flexibility, allowing the patch to conform to curved surfaces — nose, chin, jawline — without lifting at the edges

The Three Sizes — Matched to the Spot

Always choose a patch slightly larger than the blemish — the hydrocolloid needs a complete seal around the entire area to create the osmotic draw. A patch that's too small won't seal and won't work.

What It Works On — and What It Doesn't

How to Use

1. Cleanse and completely dry the area — the patch won't adhere to damp skin
2. Select a patch slightly larger than the spot
3. Peel and press firmly, smoothing all edges for a complete seal
4. Leave 6–8 hours or overnight
5. Remove when patch turns white — replace if needed
6. Follow with your usual skincare routine
